Product Details
Artistry: Traditional hand-painting with botanical and geometric patterns, where each stroke of shade takes hours to engrave and only after that next stroke is painted.
Design: A curated pair consisting of a 10-inch radial mandala design and an 8-inch organic floral vine layout.
Material Used: Authentic Blue Pottery—a unique blend of quartz stone powder, glass, Multani Mittti (Fuller’s earth), borax, and water (notably made without clay).
Dimensions: One 10-inch plate and one 8-inch plate.
Weight: Approximately 1.1 kg (total set weight).
Usage: Ideal for wall decor (comes with back hooks), display on plate stands, or as a premium housewarming gift.
Craftsmanship Details
Technique Used: Entirely handcrafted using the Glazed Blue Pottery technique; the patterns are painted by hand with metal-oxide pigments and then fired at low temperatures in a wood-fired kiln. Every stroke of colour needs hours to completely engrave on the artwork. This Blue Pottery art was awarded with GI tag in 2008.
Time Interval: Each plate takes approximately 2 to 3 days (or more, depending on the number of strokes used for painting) to complete, from initial moulding to the final kiln firing.
Artisan Origin: Expertly crafted by traditional artisans from Jaipur, Rajasthan, the only global hub for this unique, centuries-old craft.
